ICMS Reading Bowl Team

The Irwin County Middle School Reading Bowl Team won second place at the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Regional Competition on February 9, which advanced them to the state competition on March 2. The Reading Bowl Team defeated several public, private, and charter schools, large and small, to become the runner-up champions. The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl is a unique competition where students are quizzed over the year's Georgia Peach Book Award for Teen Readers nominees.

The team competed in the division II competition on Saturday, March 2, at Georgia Southern University. Although the ICMS team did not advance to the next round of competition, they did place 4th overall. Coaches Rene Barnes and Dee Cunningham, as well as the entire ICMS community, are very proud of our girls!
